Community Animal Medicine Project (CAMP) is Southern California's largest nonprofit veterinary organization, providing indispensable veterinary services throughout Los Angeles' most underserved communities since 2007. We operate four low cost, high volume spay/neuter and community animal medicine clinics in South Los Angeles, San Pedro and Mission Hills. We also operate mobile clinics that travel throughout Los Angeles bringing veterinary services directly to communities in need.

Our low cost community animal medicine programs reach over 70,000 pets annually and treat a wide range of health problems, such as infections, allergies, wound care, mass removals as well as dental services and surgical procedures. Since CAMP started in 2007, we have spayed and neutered over 290,000 dogs and cats, positively impacting Los Angeles’ animal shelter live release rate. We also operate a burgeoning Veterinary Training Project, a CE accredited program that trains veterinarians in high-quality high-volume spay/neuter surgical and clinical techniques, helping to address the shortage of veterinary professionals with this much needed skill set.

Our vision is to ensure that veterinary services are affordable and accessible to all pet owners, so that people and their pets never fall between the cracks and suffer needlessly due to lack of access to veterinary care. Our work is critical to the communities we serve--eliminating barriers to life-saving veterinary services, helping mitigate animal homelessness, educating pet owners on the importance of spay/neuter and continued health and wellness, and working to reduce intake into crowded animal shelters to eliminate the needlessly cruel euthanasia of adoptable animals and to help reduce stress on the overburdened shelter system.
