I will be joining a charity bike ride with Team Dai, which will be both a cycling adventure and a chance to make a real difference. Since 2008, the Team Dai Cycling Team has used its annual multi-day cycling tour to raise funds for local charities. This year, we have about 30 riders, and together we are aiming to raise $15,000 for the Lao Conservation Trust for Wildlife (LCTW). LCTW is one of two organizations in Laos focused on rescuing animals from the illegal wildlife trade, and they rescue, rehabilitate, and release wildlife that has been illegally trafficked and traded. This year's effort is particularly urgent as LCTW recently received notice that they need to move their entire site and animals. To continue their critical work of conserving Laos' wildlife and educating people about the importance of wildlife conservation, they need substantial support. So to do our part, from December 1st to December 4th, we'll be cycling 412 kilometers (256 miles) with 2800 meters (9,100 feet) of elevation gain.
