What started in 2007 as a small idea to get students outdoors has continued to grow into something truly special for the Lincoln School District and community. The Lincoln Outdoor Program was built on the belief that students learn some of life’s most important lessons outside of a traditional classroom setting, and that mission continues today stronger than ever.

Through activities like hiking, camping, fishing, nature exploration, outdoor competitions, and hands-on learning experiences, students are given opportunities to build confidence, leadership skills, teamwork, responsibility, and a deeper appreciation for the outdoors and environmental stewardship. These experiences help students step outside of their comfort zones, connect with nature, and create memories that last long after graduation.

One of the most rewarding parts of the program has been watching it continue to grow year after year. Not only are we reaching and serving more students, but we are also seeing more teachers, administrators, community members, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters become involved and invested in the future of our students. Their support and dedication continue to open new doors and create new opportunities for the kids of Lincoln School District that many students may never have experienced otherwise.

The Lincoln Outdoor Program has become more than just outdoor activities. It has become a family and a community effort built around helping students succeed both inside and outside of school. Whether students are learning outdoor skills, competing as a team, building friendships, or simply gaining confidence in themselves, the impact reaches far beyond the classroom.

As we continue moving forward, our goal is to keep growing, keep creating opportunities, and keep giving students experiences that help shape their future in positive ways. We are proud of how far the program has come since 2007 and excited for what is still ahead for the students, families, staff, and community of Lincoln School District.
