Add to Calendar 2024-02-09 20:00:34 2024-02-09 23:30:00 US/Pacific American Born Chinese Foundation Lunar New Year Celebration Fundraiser with David's Guide The anticipation is high as the Lunar New Year Celebration Fundraiser Event for the American Born Chinese Foundation prepares to welcome the Year of the Dragon in a spectacular night of festivities at the Andaz Hotel on Sunset Blvd. The event is benefiting the American Born Chinese Foundation, serving as the title sponsor. Founded with a mission to fill the gap in available Chinese/English bilingual books, it aims to provide free resources for American Born Chinese children to become bilingual, and supporting positive AAPI identity from childhood. Through initiatives like "I Love Speaking Chinese," the foundation seeks to support families in nurturing bilingualism and Asian representation in children’s books. This celebration marks the launch of Asian Stories for luxury lifestyle publication David's Guide. Founded by celebrity photographer David Christopher Lee. Lee has produced numerous projects supporting the Asian American community including the music video, “Tonight” by Hotel Lobby which featured Lisa Ling, Kelly Hu, Simu Liu, and the cast of Bling Empire. He also produced a project called NFT4Good that raised over $40,000 for “Stop Asian Hate” causes. The project featured Chriselle Lim, Ronnie Chieng, Jim Kwik and more. Highlighting the evening will be a live performance by renowned music artist CHERYL K, known for her appearance in "Crazy Rich Asians." Additionally, the event will be graced by celebrity guests including JB Tadena (Kung Fu), Eddie Liu (Kung Fu), Jordan Rodrigues (National Treasure), Mike Bow (Maze Runner), Dennis Kwan (Ghost Busters), Jarry Lee (Influencer), Vaja (recording artist), Soo Yeon Lee (ping pong champion) Chen Tang (Warriors), Byron Mann (The Big Short, Skyscraper), Brett Glatman (The Greatest Beer Run), Bernard Chong (Love is Love), Will Shapiro (Failure to Launch), and Laur Allen (The Young and the Restless), among others. Scheduled for February 9th, 2024, from 8:00pm to 11:00pm, the Lunar New Year Celebration Fundraiser Event boasts an array of captivating activities and performances. Attendees can look forward to a Dragon Dance, red carpet interviews, Face-changing(Sichuan Opera),martial arts Displays, Lion Dancing, Tea Ceremonies and Raffles.
