Lydia's Friends is Dummerston's own friends-of-the-library group. We are committed to promoting the success of the Lydia Taft Pratt Library. Our annual Geranium Festival, Silent Auction & Book Sale raises funds to support our library.

As a community information hub and gathering place, the Lydia Taft Pratt Library endeavors to enrich lives and strengthen community by engaging the evolving informational, educational, cultural and recreational needs of the Dummerston Community through the provision of diverse traditional resources, new technologies, accessible public space, culturally competent professional and volunteer staffing, and innovative programming.

It is our mission through our collections, facilities, programs, staff and volunteers to:

Facilitate a friendly and welcoming environment
Inspire a sense of wonder and discovery for people of every age
Foster a commitment to lifelong learning
Promote an engaged and informed citizenry
Support the tenets of intellectual freedom
Serve community members physically unable to visit the library
