For more than 20 years, the Connecticut Institute for Community Development (CICD) Puerto Rican Parade, Inc. (CICD) has recognized well over 100 individuals in memory of our beloved María C. Sánchez for their community leadership, commitment to education and preservation of Puerto Rican arts and culture.

This year, the banquet will take place on Saturday, December 5th, 2026 at the Marriott Hotel Downtown Hartford. Seven awards will be presented in the categories of leadership, education, community services, art and culture, youth leadership, and the President’s Award.
