Migration is a nonprofit vocational and transition program serving adults on the autism spectrum (ASD). Our mission is to reduce the unemployment rate among autistic adults by providing evidence-based, community-focused support that promotes independence, self-determination, and meaningful inclusion.

Currently, nearly 1 in every 31 people is diagnosed with autism—and almost 80% of autistic adults are unemployed or underemployed. At Migration, we believe in changing those statistics by creating opportunities for real-world skill-building, supported employment, and connection.

This spring, we launched a part time pilot program, and the response has been overwhelming support and enthusiasm. We are actively enrolling more community members and expanding our services.

We’re excited to share that we’ve secured a lease for our permanent home: Migration Mercantile, a North Loop storefront and café opening in fall of 2026. This renovated bungalow will serve as the heart of our program—not only as a vocational training site, but also as a social hub for connection, community, and shared experience. It's a space where our members can learn, work, build relationships, and feel truly welcomed.

We are now working hard to raise the funds needed to bring this vision to life. Every dollar will go toward transforming our space, covering training and staffing costs, and ensuring the program remains affordable and accessible to the individuals and families who need it most.

We believe that, starting right here in Austin, we can build something that sets a national example for inclusive, community-based employment models.
