Migration is a nonprofit vocational and transition program serving adults on the autism spectrum. We provide evidence-based therapy and hands-on job skills training to help our community members build independence, work toward meaningful employment, and find their place in the community around them.

The prevalence of autism diagnoses is increasing at a rapid rate, currently 1:31, and record numbers of young adults are transitioning out of school with almost no supports available. The result is an overwhelming majority of these adults remaining under or unemployed and isolated. These are not outcomes driven by a lack of ability or ambition. They reflect how little infrastructure exists to support autistic adults once they leave school. Migration exists to change that.

This fall we move into our new home in North Loop and begin the daunting task of turning a house into a coffee shop and retail store. Migration Mercantile will be a fully operational business open to the public where our therapists can provide evidence-based support and job skills training. After hours, the space becomes a gathering place for adults with autism and other disabilities to connect, socialize, and build the kinds of meaningful relationships that are so often out of reach. Our goal is to help our community members develop the skills they need to obtain and sustain outside employment, increase their independence, and find their place in their world.

This remarkable group of people is capable of great things and deserving of far more than has ever been made available to them. We're making support available, and hope you'll join us in our mission. Whether you give, bid, attend, or share our story, your involvement helps us make this all possible. Let's sip, support, and soar!
