At My Recovery Day, we believe that recovery is not just possible—it rocks. We began our nonprofit organization based in Cleveland, Ohio in 2016, Our mission is to develop and provide follow-up support resources to individuals recovering from addiction, offering them the help and hope they need for sustainable recovery.

Our Impact

Through innovative programs like My Family Recovers, an online family education and group support program; the Recovery Bank, which provides essential household items to those starting anew, and the J.O.B.S. (Just Online Being Sober) Program, offering technology training for income generation in a safe environment, we've assisted countless individuals on their recovery journey.

My Recovery Day Jam 2025

Ricky Byrd: A 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and guitarist for Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Ricky Byrd brings over 30 years of sobriety to the stage. His performances are a testament to the healing power of music, featuring songs from his albums "Clean Getaway" and "Sobering Times." As a certified recovery coach, Byrd uses his platform to inspire others to overcome addiction.

Liberty DeVitto: Just pick up one of the 150 million copies of Billy Joel records sold in the last 40 years and you’ll hear why Liberty is called “THE songwriter’s drummer and the American Ringo.” Spanning his career, Liberty has played with Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, Mick Jagger, Roger Daltrey, Ronnie Spector, Karen Carpenter, Phoebe Snow, Elton John, Meatloaf, and many, many more. In 2013 he was inducted into The Classic Drummer’s Hall of Fame.

Liberty is also member of “Clean Getaway,” a band and program dedicated to rock ‘n’ roll and sober living. He recently worked with Ricky Byrd on his 2021 album, “Sobering Times.” Liberty has also participated in PSA’s for the US government to combat drug and alcohol abuse. Liberty continues to love what he was born to do, DRUM.
Chrissy Strong: An indie singer/songwriter from Akron, Ohio, Chrissy Strong captivates audiences with her soulful piano ballads. Her music reflects her personal journey of recovery and self-discovery, celebrating the resilience of the human spirit.
Bootsy Collins and Pepperminte Patti Collins: My Recovery Day is thrilled to announce its newest Ambassadors for My Recovery Day Jam 2025 at the Rock Hall: the legendary Bootsy Collins and Pepperminte Patti Collins, representing the Bootsy Collins Foundation.
Hollie Strano: Meet co-host Hollie Strano. Hollie is an Emmy-winning mental health advocate, seasoned television professional, and nationally recognized voice with more than two decades of on-air experience. As a trusted meteorologist and the creator of Abruptly Authentic, she blends science, soul, and storytelling to deliver both powerful forecasts and fearless conversations. Hollie unapologetically recovers out loud. Her mission? To break stigma wide open — and remind others that there’s strength in sharing your story.

Stars and Stripes in Recovery Award

The Stars and Stripes in Recovery Award honors a veteran or service member who exemplifies the values of courage, resilience, and dedication in both military service and the journey of recovery. This award recognizes individuals who have not only served our nation with honor, but who also continue to serve their communities by demonstrating that recovery is possible. Throughout his career, Larry Harvey has embodied the values of service, leadership, and compassion. His lifelong commitment to helping others heal from addiction and trauma makes him a fitting recipient of the Stars and Stripes in Recovery Award.

Since its inception in 2022, My Recovery Day Jam has seen remarkable growth. The inaugural event attracted over 10,000 viewers across 36 states, and by 2023, it expanded to over 45,000 viewers in 50 states and six countries, with 1,455 watch parties. In 2024, we reached over 55,000 people across the United States with over 1,800 watch parties hosted for our live-stream of the event.

For 2025, our goal is to reach 75,000 people and 2,000 sober living and treatment centers across the country, sharing the message of recovery, opportunity, and hope.

The region's dual legacy in music and recovery underscores the importance of community and shared experiences in overcoming addiction.

Rock and Roll Roots: Cleveland is celebrated as the birthplace of rock and roll, thanks to DJ Alan Freed's pioneering work in the 1950s. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame stands as a testament to the city's lasting influence on the genre and underscores its transformative power.

12-Step Recovery Roots: Akron, just a short drive from Cleveland, is the birthplace of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), founded in 1935. This movement has helped millions worldwide overcome alcoholism and addiction.
