Colicchie: Back by popular demand is Colicchie. Born as Chas Smith in Pittsburgh, he faced adversity from an early age, raised by his grandparents due to his mother’s addiction. He battled drug addiction, notably heroin and crack, leading to a life on the streets and multiple overdoses. In 2005, he turned to rap as a creative outlet to support his recovery efforts, sharing his harrowing experiences. His breakthrough came in 2017 with mixtapes like “19 Days Apart” and “The Last Eleven Years.” The music video for “Drug Addiction” garnered over 15 million views in its first year, resonating with those battling their own demons. Colicchie’s music serves as an inspiring story of recovery, now with a loving family and a program of recovery. Sobriety Date - June 7th, 2015. Here is one of his songs released about a month ago. Tyler Smilo: Tyler Smilo is a dynamic musician known for his prolific songwriting, with well over 100 songs and 10 full-length albums to his name. He has graced the stage with renowned artists like Mutli-Grammy winner Jim Lauderdale and Grammy nominee Peter Rowan, and has opened for critically acclaimed bands such as Dan & Shay, RailRoad Earth, Greensky Bluegrass and 10,000 Maniacs. Aside from his musical achievements, Tyler's personal story is equally compelling. Through his songs, Tyler shares his story of recovery, serving as an advocate for change and growth. Tyler's personal journey is as inspiring as his music. 7 years ago, he embraced a clean lifestyle, a decision that has profoundly influenced his art. Hollie unapologetically recovers out loud. Her mission? To break stigma wide open — and remind others that there’s strength in sharing your story. She did a great job last year at My Recovery Day Jam 2025 and will join us this year.

2025 Stars and Stripes in Recovery Award

The Stars and Stripes in Recovery Award honors a veteran or service member who exemplifies the values of courage, resilience, and dedication in both military service and the journey of recovery. This award recognizes individuals who have not only served our nation with honor, but who also continue to serve their communities by demonstrating that recovery is possible. Throughout his career, Larry Harvey has embodied the values of service, leadership, and compassion. His lifelong commitment to helping others heal from addiction and trauma makes him a fitting recipient of the Stars and Stripes in Recovery Award.

Since its inception in 2022, My Recovery Day Jam has seen remarkable growth. The inaugural event attracted over 10,000 viewers across 36 states, and by 2023, it expanded to over 45,000 viewers in 50 states and six countries, with 1,455 watch parties. In 2024, we reached over 55,000 people across the United States with over 1,800 watch parties hosted for our live-stream of the event.

For 2026, our goal is to reach 75,000 people and 2,000 sober living and treatment centers across the country, sharing the message of recovery, opportunity, and hope.

Rock and Roll Roots: Cleveland is celebrated as the birthplace of rock and roll, thanks to DJ Alan Freed's pioneering work in the 1950s. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame stands as a testament to the city's lasting influence on the genre and underscores its transformative power.

12-Step Recovery Roots: Akron, just a short drive from Cleveland, is the birthplace of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), founded in 1935. This movement has helped millions worldwide overcome alcoholism and addiction.
