Some fights don't end when the deployment does.

Every year we gather at VFW Benbrook Memorial Post 10429 on a Sunday morning in September, and we run. Some run fast. Some walk the whole way. Some put on a weighted pack and ruck it, the way they were trained to. What matters is that we go the distance together, and that nobody does it alone.

Run for the V exists to bring awareness to suicide prevention. Proceeds benefit nonprofits providing services to veterans and first responders facing life's struggles. These are the people who show up for the rest of us on our worst days. This is one morning where we show up for them.

The course starts and finishes right here at VFW Benbrook Memorial Post 10429. You'll cross Stevens Drive to Lakeview, head through the Benbrook Lake Park gate, and take in the lake before turning back for home. It's 3.1 miles, and it's a beautiful stretch of Benbrook.
