For the 7th year, 99.9 KISW has named SMASH its nonprofit partner for Seattle Rock Day - Thursday, May 7th, 2026, featuring inaugural Rock Day Ambassador Mike McCready of Pearl Jam!

Seattle Rock Day is KISW’s annual campaign that honors Seattle music legends on-air all day long while also raising money for SMASH to help local musicians stay healthy. The campaign includes both a donation drive and an online auction (see the Auction and Donate links at the top of this page).

The Auction starts Monday, April 27th, and runs until 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 7th. Donations are always open.

WHAT IS SMASH?

SMASH (Seattle Musicians Access to Sustainable Healthcare) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Seattle that connects local musicians to free and low-cost health services, easy to access, and empathetic to the unique needs of working musicians.

Even Small Donations Go A Long Way with SMASH

Waiting List. Right now, SMASH has 142 musicians waiting for important healthcare services, like dental visits, mental health sessions, hearing protection, vocal screenings, general wellness visits, and more:

$10 - helps buy a pair of universal earplugs for hearing protection
$20 - helps cover a hearing screening
$50 - helps cover two (2)! dental exams and standard cleanings with one of our partner dentists
$100 - helps cover the costs for custom fitted earplugs or a mental health counseling session
$200 - helps cover a porcelain crown for a musician through one of our partner dentists
$250 donation can take a SMASH Member off our 28 member emergency dental waitlist.
$1,000 helps can cover a block of mental health sessions for a musician -or- take a SMASH Member off our 45 member mental health waitlist.
