Bethany's going back to Biloxi, MS! Travelers give their time, money, energy, vacation time, and even privacy (bunk beds! shared bathrooms!) to:

repair houses,
keep people in their homes,
serve those who are living without either, and
support the amazing staff at Back Bay Mission

Back Bay Mission is just about the only progressive church presence in the whole gulf area, where they've been making good trouble for over a century. In Biloxi, overnight shelters aren't allowed, it's illegal to sleep outdoors, and the effects of Hurricane Katrina are still evident everywhere. And Back Bay Mission runs on volunteer power. All proceeds from the auction (and our Shrimp Boil!) support travelers going to join this life-saving work.
