The 4th Annual Festival of Unfinished Work

Bramble Theatre Company’s 4th Annual Festival of Unfinished Work features six brand-new scenes from original full-length plays in development by some of Chicago’s most exciting playwrights:
Rammel Chan, Georgette Kelly, Hanna Kime, Ashley Neal, David Stobbe, and Victor Yang.

During the Festival, the audience will vote for the work they most want to see grow. The winning pieces will be awarded full workshops and staged public readings during our Spring Reading Series—an opportunity to bring unfinished work one step closer to the stage.

This is where the future of Chicago theatre is born.

About Bramble

Our ensemble’s roots stretch back to June 2019 at The School at Steppenwolf. We officially launched in February 2021 with a mission to create a home for work that is bold, inclusive, and ever-evolving.

We named ourselves after the bramble bush—a wild, resilient plant made of many tangled vines. It’s thorny, yes. But it also bears sweet fruit. We like that duality. It’s how we see the work.

Bramble Theatre is a space for growth. For questions. For risk. For joy. We center education, community, and artistic rigor, and we believe in uplifting each other through the messy, beautiful act of making theatre.

We are a safe space and an open door. For artists. For audiences. For anyone who’s looking to be reminded of what it means to be human.
