Hello friends and Family! Welcome to Team Sonny's WFS Silent Auction Page! Thank you for being here!

For any new faces here, our son, Sonny, was diagnosed with CTD (Creatine Transporter Deficiency) in September 2021 at 20 months old. After an explosive onset of epilepsy after over a year of unanswered questions, Sonny received his diagnosis. So, what exactly is CTD?

CTD is a rare, currently untreatable, genetic brain disease with only around 350 diagnosed cases worldwide. Sonny’s condition causes epilepsy, prolonged QT syndrome (a heart condition), developmental and speech delays, amongst several other potential complications that are still unknown to us. We are doing everything we can to support Sonny medically and developmentally, but CTD will pose life-long challenges for him. Our hope is that by supporting ACD, we can help make a difference in Sonny’s life and others who are living with this condition through supporting research efforts for CTD and other CCDS. This year we are seeing such great strides on the research front as 2 potential treatments are close to enrolling in clinical trials. We are hopeful there may be something for our sweet boy soon!

So, who is Sonny? If you haven't met him - Sonny is a vibrant and determined 6.5-year-old boy living in Edina, MN! Although CTD poses many challenges, Sonny doesn’t let that stop him. He remains incredibly loving, social, curious, and is just darn sweet. He is our greatest teacher, and we strive to live in the moment like he does every day. He is a lover of animals, people (especially 'baby' - Sonny's little sister Murphy), and anything with wheels. His smile lights up every room he enters and has remained undimmed in the face of these challenges – he’s the toughest kid we know.
