LumaRise was founded to help bridge the gap between people who are struggling and the support, connection, and hope they need to move forward.

The idea grew from the founder’s own experience of trying to find help during a time of crisis. Even when support existed, accessing it often meant navigating confusing systems, unanswered questions, disconnected resources, and one hurdle after another at a time when simply taking the next step was already difficult.

LumaRise is being built to remove as many of those hoops and hurdles as possible.

Too often, people facing mental health challenges, trauma, addiction, grief, or other difficult seasons encounter the same barriers: isolation, stigma, uncertainty about where to turn, and a feeling that they have to figure everything out alone.

We are building a better way.

Based in Hampton Roads, Virginia, LumaRise is building a community-centered organization where authentic Stories of Hope help people feel seen, reduce stigma, and remind others that healing is possible.

Our work is growing around three essential areas of support: emotional connection, practical and cognitive resources, and opportunities for spiritual support. Through storytelling, educational resources, community partnerships, peer connection, and accessible pathways to existing support, our goal is not to replace the organizations already doing important work. It is to make those resources easier to find, understand, and access.

We are currently building the foundation for that vision: expanding community partnerships, developing online and community resources, creating opportunities for people to share their stories publicly or anonymously, and bringing people together through experiences like The LumaRise Experience: Illuminating Hope, Rising Together.

Every donation helps us continue building that foundation and reach more people who need connection, encouragement, practical resources, and hope.
