About U-GO

U-GO was founded in 2022 by former Microsoft Executive and social entrepreneur John Wood, his second social venture following Room to Read. U-GO believes every deserving young woman from a low-income country who has the desire should have the opportunity to pursue university education, thus creating increased earnings and better lives for herself, her family, and her community. U-GO helps ambitious and promising young women in low-income countries to pursue tertiary education by providing financial scholarships funded by individuals and corporations in high-income countries. To date, U-GO has funded scholarships for 6,700 young women across nine low-income Asian and African countries.
