We founded Otter & Penguin Makerspaces out of a deep passion for creating and sustaining spaces that support the arts and empower creativity. Our purpose is to build an environment of inclusivity where people can collaborate, learn, experiment, and create. Our programs and spaces are open to everyone of all skill levels, ages, and cultures.

To expand access to underrepresented communities that often lack opportunities in the arts, we’re launching Art Migration, a mobile, bus-based studio program. Inspired by earlier projects using temporary shipping container studios, we saw the need for a more flexible, mobile solution that can reach neighborhoods without permanent creative spaces.

By partnering with local communities and working closely with city permitting offices, we plan to bring the Art Migration bus to different neighborhoods throughout the year. Each stop will offer free or low-cost art classes for several weeks, providing participants with the materials, skills, and confidence to continue their creative journeys long after the bus moves on.
