Join us for a showing of the wildfire film Elemental at TACAW to kick off the Roaring Fork Valley Wildfire Collaborative's Summer Wildfire Education Series! A panel of wildfire experts will answer questions after the film, and all attendees will have the opportunity to win door prizes and participate in our silent auction.
Doors: 5:30pm / Film starts: 6:00pm
Film description: Elemental takes viewers on a journey to better understand wildfire. In the film, you'll visit fire labs to learn why some homes survive when others do not; listen firsthand to firefighters and residents who have survived the deadliest fires; learn from Native Americans about how fire can benefit nature; and follow researchers who study the effects of fire on forests. In the wake of destructive fires across the nation, the solutions are now more timely and urgent than ever. We hope that this screening will inspire residents and visitors to discover how we can keep our homes and communities safe. Run time: 84 min.
Please note that the film is recommended for ages 12+
