Since 1971, the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition has worked to transform San Francisco’s streets and neighborhoods into safe, just, and livable places by promoting the bicycle for everyday transportation. Through grassroots organizing, SFBike has helped shape the streetscape and city policies to improve safety and access on our streets for all SF residents.

Our advocacy empowers marginalized communities, demystifies city processes, and fosters civic engagement. Our work to create positive change on our streets is grounded in four core values of transportation justice, sustainability, connection, and joy. When streets are prioritized for people instead of cars–and when the transit system serves all residents–our city can thrive economically, culturally, and socially.

Programs, like Bike to Wherever Day, developed in partnership with community-based organizations, build trust and open the door to imagining new, sustainable ways for residents to move through, and connect with the city. Some of those riders will have a bike because of our Bike It Forward program, which removes financial barriers to bike ownership and maintenance. And some of those riders and 1000s of others learned to ride or became more confident riding in our bike education classes.

We invite you to come celebrate the wins of the past year with us at Winterfest. Your ticket and auction purchases support our mission to advocate, educate, and build community for biking and rolling that is safe, convenient, and welcoming for everyone in San Francisco.
