Our Mission: Celebrating Resilient Paths to Success

At the heart of our gala is the celebration of women who have navigated challenges with resilience and perseverance to make indelible marks in their fields and communities. These women's stories are testaments to the strength that comes from embracing leadership and striving for inclusion. By honoring the achievements of these established professional women, as well as recognizing promising AAPI women under 40 with the Rising Star Award, we aim to inspire all attendees to recognize and unleash their own potential for impact, fostering a world where every woman's success is unveiled and celebrated.

The Serica Initiative is a New York-based nonprofit organization that galvanizes a global community of changemakers to advocate for greater Asian American inclusion and advance positive social impact (in U.S.-Asia relations. Our priority areas center on (1) combating anti-Asian hate and developing a more nuanced understanding of the AAPI experience through narrative change and documentary storytelling; (2) amplifying the impact of Next Gen (U.S.-China) philanthropy and social innovation through thought leadership and dialogue and our partnership with CINGS; and (3) women’s empowerment through our annual Women’s Conference and Gala initiative.
