We believe that doulas, midwives, and other birth workers are a vital part of the solution to Louisiana’s maternal health crisis. These advocates bring care rooted in trust, cultural understanding, and continuous support—helping to ensure safer, more empowered birth outcomes. When a mother has an advocate in the room and a network of care around her, the risks decrease and the chances for a healthy, supported postpartum period increase.
