Welcome to my 3rd Giving Day page for RISE. My commitment to this organization and more importantly its cause, continues to deepen.

This year, I've had two powerful personal reminders of why this work is so crucial. Two people I knew from previous work and university classes have been impacted by incarceration. This stark reality reinforced something important: incarceration can affect anyone, often touching more lives in our communities than we realize.

The reality: 1 in every 3 adults has a criminal history and 95% of incarcerated individuals will return to our communities.

RISE helps people prepare to reenter society. We've graduated over 800 individuals from our in-prison program across 7 Nebraska prisons. RISE creates spaces where incarcerated individuals can be vulnerable and begin seeing the importance of community, right there in the classroom. This intensive programming transforms not only those we serve but also the volunteers and staff (like me!) who are privileged to work alongside these remarkable individuals.

Provide business classes to formerly justice-involved individuals and their families,

Connect and heal families through community and art.
