On April 25, 2026 at 2:00pm, something special is happening in our community.

The mayor will swap city hall for a chef’s apron. The police chief and district attorney will step out of their usual roles and into the kitchen. Local business owners will join them—all facing off in a friendly cook-off for a powerful cause: Hive of Hope Sober Active Community.

Hive of Hope is a nonprofit community center for individuals in recovery from substance use disorder. Inspired by the honeybee and guided by the motto “Sober Living Through Giving,” the Hive is a place where people find connection, purpose, and a safe space to rebuild their lives together.

In 2025, hundreds of new members walked through the doors. Thousands of visits, dozens of events, and countless acts of service followed. Behind every statistic is a real person choosing recovery, finding belonging, and discovering that they don’t have to do it alone.

Hive of Hope works closely with local treatment partners to strengthen recovery across our region—but its future depends on community support. This cook-off is about more than food or friendly competition. It’s about leaders leading, neighbors supporting neighbors, and a community showing up for hope.
