Try your "luck" by adopting a duck! Adopt your Lucky Duck here and watch them race at Barefoot Bay on Saturday, August 1 (Rain Date is Saturday, August 8) in the Lazy River at 2:00 pm. The Mundelein Parks Foundation has 250 adoptable ducks with numbers on their undersides, available for $10 each ONLINE ONLY through Thursday, July 30, 2026. Participants are not required to be present to win. Any ducks left "unadopted" will be available for adoption at Barefoot Bay on August 1, while supplies last, before 1:30 pm.

Bring the family to enjoy "Lucky Duck Day at the 'Bay," located at Barefoot Bay Aquatic Center, 1461 N. Midlothian Road, Mundelein. Liberty Automotive Jeep, our Presenting Sponsor, will bring an impressive Jeep for all to experience, parked in the Barefoot Bay breezeway. The Yellow Duck Truck will be on site, cooking up some delish cuisine for purchase; Duck Donuts will be there handing out their delectable donuts (while supplies last); BCU will be handing out adorable blue rubber duckies, and Mundelein Family Dental will help us add some Lucky Duck fun for families by taking photos at our Rubber Duckie Photo Booth.

The "Lucky Duck Race" in the lazy river will begin with a splash at 2 pm.
All spectators must use a season pass or purchase a daily admittance at the resident/non-resident rate to enter Barefoot Bay.

Third place: $100 Mundelein Park & Recreation District Gift Card

All proceeds will go directly to fund Recreation Scholarships for swimming lessons, summer camp, and more, to underprivileged families living in the District. The Mundelein Parks Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that encourages health and recreation for the community through funding efforts that help promote and enhance facilities, services, programs, parks, and special projects.
