Every step honors a hero.

March to the Cross is a community fundraising challenge, hosted by the Holmen Knights of Columbus, created to honor our local veterans and raise funds for Freedom Honor Flight. We organized this event because Freedom Honor Flight is low on funds. Here are two news stories that explain more.

Freedom Honor Flight provides veterans with the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. at no cost to them, so they can visit the memorials built in their honor. For many veterans, this trip is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and one they truly deserve. Right now, the waiting list to fly out of La Crosse has about 650 veterans — mostly from the Vietnam era.

How It Works

Participants will walk or run laps in honor of a veteran — a family member, friend, or someone they’ve never met but deeply respect. Each lap represents gratitude, remembrance, and service. Click the blue button in the Teams section above to help fundraise!
