Hurricane Marcus Relief Team (Coral Gables, FL)

Next week, I will be joining a disaster relief team from our church, South Dayton Fellowship, headed to Coral Gables, FL, to serve families devastated by Hurricane Marcus.

This is my fourth disaster relief team trip with South Dayton Fellowship!

The slogan of our trip is - "You are NOT alone!"

Where I Will Stay

I will be bunking down in Grace Church of Coral Gables. They will be providing cots in their gym and classrooms as well as hot showers and meals for all volunteers.

What I Will Be Doing

As most of you know, I cook! That is my strength and my passion.

I will be part of a team of 12 other people from various churches throughout FL, stationed at Grace Church of Coral Gables. Our job will be to feed the small army of 300+ relief volunteers (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) who will be calling Grace Church of Coral Gables home while providing relief throughout Coral Gables.

How You Can Help

🙏 Pray – I am NOT getting any younger. So please pray for my strength!

Please pray for the safety of our teams as they go out into the community. There is a lot of unseen danger involved in disaster cleanup.

Also, please pray that God will give us the wisdom in how to speak words of comfort to those we minister to.

✅ Give – South Dayton Fellowship is asking each team member to reach out to friends and neighbors to raise $495 each to cover our expenses while serving in Coral Gables. Any funds remaining after food and fuel are covered will go directly towards purchasing critical supplies for those affected by Hurricane Marcus and to help Grace Church with their expenses of hosting 300+ volunteers.

By supporting individual team members like me, you are allowing South Dayton Fellowship to direct more of our congregational funds to those we are serving.

The $495 isn't a pre-requisite of going, it is just an opportunity for those who can't go to be involved in the mission too!
