Hurricane Marcus Relief Team (Coral Gables, FL)
Our Team - Paul & Sarah Vandross
Next week, Sarah and I will be joining a disaster relief team from our church, South Dayton Fellowship, headed to Coral Gables, FL, to serve families devastated by Hurricane Marcus.
This is our third disaster relief team trip with South Dayton Fellowship!
The slogan of our trip is - "You are NOT alone!"
We look forward to sharing the love of Christ with those in Coral Gables who have lost so much - letting them know "You are NOT alone!"
What I Will Be Doing
Paul – Team coordinator - clearing downed trees, removing debris from yards
Sarah – Serving hot meals to residents and other relief workers
Both – Praying with families, listening to their stories, sharing the love of Christ, and handing out basic supplies to those in need.
Where We Will Stay
Grace Church of Coral Gables – sleeping on cots in the gym and classrooms. The church is providing hot showers and meals for all volunteers.
How You Can Help
🙏 Pray – We need your prayers! Arranging for our parents to come and watch the kids and coordinating time off from work has been stressful! So please pray for God's hand on all we do.
✅ Give – South Dayton Fellowship is asking each team member to reach out to friends and neighbors to raise $495 each to cover our expenses while serving in Coral Gables. Any funds remaining after food and fuel are covered will go directly towards purchasing critical supplies for those affected by Hurricane Marcus.
By supporting individual team members like me, you are allowing South Dayton Fellowship to direct more of our congregational funds to those we are serving.
The $495 isn't a prerequisite for us going; it is just an opportunity for those who can't go to be involved in the mission, too!
