Charlotte New Music exists to create a living future for music. One that isn't streamed, but a shared presence between music artists and their community.

We are a platform and community for composers, performers, and music creators - a space where artists create new work, share it with the public, and build meaningful connections. It's not just about concerts -- it's about using music as a means for expression and transformation.

Right now, we are raising support to help build the next chapter of Charlotte New Music.

An important goals of ours is to launch a youth chorus - a space where young people can come together to experience the joy, discipline, culture, creativity, and belonging that music offers. There are no instrument costs as they use their very own beings to create. They will also get to learn from and perform with local music artists from a wide variety of styles and backgrounds. We believe music education helps shape confidence, empathy, collaboration, problem-solving, and imagination and it is so important to actively invest in the next generation.

We are also developing a jail initiative centered on mental health and human connection through music. Through this work, we give voice music and messages created by incarcerated individuals -- messages for youth, for their families, for the community, and in some cases messages of reflection, accountability, healing, and life-changing shifts.

Art can open doors to new pathways and understandings, where other forms of communication cannot, and that creative expression helps people be seen, heard, and transformed.
