El Planeta 's Story

Our role in quiet times is core for the Hispanic/LatinX communities of Massachusetts -- but when we need social cohesion and top-down effective communication, our role turns vital. That’s why El Planeta is asking you to partner with us in an effort to reach those in the community who are most lacking for the vital information we provide.

Now more than ever, local professional journalism is incredibly valuable, and we at El Planeta are doing all we can to maintain our organization intact with the same number of journalists, producers, translators, graphic designers, circulation staff, and marketing personnel.

Like in a hospital, we need teams behind doctors (our journalists). Our advertising sales are currently below 40% vs last year, and yet we continue to keep our readers up-to-date with key information and news about the impact of COVID-19 in Greater Boston’s LatinX community.

We are increasing our content collaborating with WBUR (Boston NPR station) by translating/curating their content into Spanish as our reporters collaborate on stories vital to the entire community.

We are asking institutions, regional governments, and corporations that leverage our media, to address and partner with the Hispanic/LatinX community and help us expand our reach to the most vulnerable among us. We are also asking you directly to help us with your donation.

!Muchas gracias!
