Black Mamas ATX

Black Mamas ATX’s goal is to reduce and ultimately eliminate the alarming maternal mortality and morbidity rates among Black women. Through programs, increased awareness, training, outreach, and research, Black Mamas ATX is leading the charge in Central Texas to help Black mothers get the education and access to resources needed to have healthy pregnancies and birthing experiences.

Mama Sana Vibrant Woman

Mama Sana Vibrant Woman's mission is to improve pregnancy and birth outcomes for communities of color in Central Texas by providing culturally congruent education and support using the midwifery model of care. Through culturally resonant and quality prenatal and postnatal care in Austin and Travis County they are focused on whole-body wellness from a reproductive justice lens.

Our Mission
We seek to promote awareness, provide education, and increase the resources necessary for the prevention and treatment of Perinatal Mental Health Disorders (PMHDs) in the professional and public community.

Who We Are
Nurtured TX is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization that is dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by PMHDs. Nurtured TX, formerly known as the Pregnancy and Postpartum Health Alliance of Texas, was started in 2011 in a collaboration between mothers in search of community and healing and mental health care professionals who specialize in PMHD treatment.

What We Do
Nurtured TX proudly serves Texas by:
Firstly, being a resource for individuals and families in need of help by providing a network of local providers that specialize in PMHDs, known as the Kristi’s List Provider Directory. Second, we seek to educate. We offer continuing education courses for medical professionals as well as the general public and participate in educational seminars and conferences for health professionals. Finally, and perhaps most notably, through our Central Texas Connect to Care Program, we offer the opportunity for underserved individuals in the Austin community through therapy and psychiatry vouchers. This program was created to help birthing people in Austin and the surrounding areas who might not be able to afford PMHD care.
