Rachamim Fundraiser:

We have been paired for four months studying Mussar with Rabbi Susan Goldberg from NEFESH. Mussar is spiritual wisdom and a discipline of transformative practices. One of the middot that we want to respond to in action is Rachamim, meaning compassion in Hebrew. We are practicing how to have compassion for ourselves, our community and the world. Creating this fundraiser is part of developing our understanding of how to show compassion to the world or as Rabbi Susan says, “Compassion is empathy plus action!”. 

This is our action!

We want to grow our empathy for others ( women we know and women we don’t) by moving into the action of financially supporting the non- profit, The Downtown Women’s Center.

We will speak the truths of our friends/ friendships, while raising money and awareness for The Downtown Women’s Center. Our actions will show our compassion towards our intimate friends and for women of all races, cultures and religions who need our financial support. 

It is suggested that once you are honored, you then pay it forward by honoring a friend( or friends) with words of compassion and a donation. The donation can be as small as $5 per person ( for example: 10 people @ $5 each or 5 people @ $10 each) or as large as you like!
