Nkeiruka Oruche's Story

A dollar a day, keeps the poverty pimp savior away.

People will flock in to save ‘Africa’ when we post pictures of starving children, refugees of war, social and political disaster, poor, ‘non-educated’, need menstrual pads…. And… more and more

But let me tell you that you can support ‘Africa’ even when we are not bleeding in front of your face, even when we are not nameless victims with our ribs showing. You can support Africa when we have a desire to thrive, to be self determined, to be brilliant, to be African.

And let me tell you that in doing that you in return still support a ‘village’.

Our #510ToDa234 project gives us the opportunity to provide true living wage economic support to Black-owned/small businesses, and individuals both locally in the Bay Area and in Nigeria.

Though part of the funds cover the bureaucratic aspects of our trip (flight, visas etc), it primarily involves paying dance, music and cultural practitioners, paying food and clothing makers, paying for accommodation… All folks who will be supported, and thus support their family and community members.

So if you want to invest in Africa. Invest in our trip. Pull up with some REAL solid amount today. Let me show you how the village do.
