I am Carlos Clanton, Director of Educational Activities for the Alpha Phi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, and I am writing to you on behalf of the George W. C. Brown Legacy Education Fund (GWCBLEF), an organization dedicated to uplifting and empowering underprivileged communities by providing necessary educational resources, with a particular focus on African American males.
Our Mission: We are committed to breaking down financial barriers to education, aiming to make quality education not a privilege, but a right for all. Our vision is to foster a world where every individual, particularly African American males, can pursue their educational dreams without financial constraints, and contribute meaningfully to their communities and the world.
Our History and Commitment: The GWCBLEF was established in 2011 by the Norfolk/Virginia Beach Alumni Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., with the primary purpose of backing their initiatives. Since our chapter's inception in 1935, we have been steadfast in our efforts to uplift and empower African American males in Norfolk and Virginia Beach.
