Friends and Family
As you know, I am a big supporter as well as board member at Hands On Atlanta. Particularly over the past few years, I have seen the important contribution Hands On Atlanta makes in the community and have been inspired by all of the Atlantans who have stepped up to volunteer given all the many needs whether it is distributing food to families in need, tutoring kids in schools or other volunteer activities. And volunteering is also a gift to the volunteer - I have so enjoyed all the people I meet volunteering and areas of the Atlanta community I get to know better.
Atlanta needs more people to roll up their sleeves and get to work. 50% of the work done by nonprofits in Atlanta is done by volunteers. As you can image, the pandemic disrupted that, which disproportionally hurt those already struggling in our community. So, if you have been wanting to help, now is the time. We have thousands of projects to choose from.
I also hope you will consider making a donation, so that we can continue creating, supporting and sharing easy and fun ways for people to volunteer. Since our founding in 1989, Hands On Atlanta has mobilized millions of people to tackle our city’s most pressing needs. A donation from you will help us continue that essential work and make Atlanta a better place.
Gratefully, Ellen
