Hi friends,
Want to know why I’m raising money for Hands On Atlanta?
Well, over the last two years, I’ve had a front row seat to the pandemic. I’ve seen food insecurity, extreme education challenges and racial inequity soar. While the needs in the Atlanta community have skyrocketed, I’ve also witnessed the surge in the number of people willing to help. I’ve been inspired by Hands On Atlanta volunteers who distribute food to families in need or tutor kids struggling in school.
As we begin to clean up the devastation caused by the last two years, one thing is already clear. Atlanta needs more people to roll up their sleeves and get to work. 50% of the work done by nonprofits in Atlanta is done by volunteers. As you can image, the pandemic disrupted that, which disproportionally hurt those already struggling in our community. So, if you have been wanting to help, now is the time. We have thousands of projects to choose from.
There are a lot of ways you can help, but I’ll hope you’ll consider making a donation, so that we can continue creating, supporting and sharing easy and fun ways for people to volunteer. Since our founding in 1989, Hands On Atlanta has mobilized millions of people to tackle our city’s most pressing needs. A donation from you will help us continue that essential work.
In service,
Jay
