Irene Komor's Story

Last year I read the opening of a collection of essays, People Love Dead Jews. The year before I read the first chapter of the novel The Baders of Jacob Street. In keeping with this theme, this year I’ll read from _The Ones Who Remember, second generation voices of the Holocaust_.

Story

The READATHON is our annual read-out-loud challenge to raise funds for the collection at TCPL!

In this, our 11th year, reader-fundraisers will read from their favorite books and ask their friends, family, and colleagues to join them in supporting the public library. Your donation, in any amount, is very welcome.

Every dollar raised helps to buy books and other materials our community so desperately needs. Nearly a million items are used each year—a remarkably high level for a community of our size—and 100% of the funding comes from private support, like that raised by our READATHON participants.

Money raised by the Readathon goes toward purchasing books, films, e-books, audiobooks, and other materials that our patrons depend on to remain informed, entertained, and educated.
