The Chicago Marathon will be my first! Sixty days left in my training, which has been more difficult than I'd realized. I took this Marathon challenge from a long time friend and my resolve is strong to complete it. To prepare, I joined my neighborhood Run Club, where I met my 77 year old trainer, Giles Williams, who has run 142 marathons. Giles has been walking me through the entire training process. I'm so lucky to have a coach that has so much knowledge.
Big Shoulders Fund is the charity I chose to run for. I chose this organization because of their mission to provide educational services, scholarships, and to prepare students for life-long success! The fact that they are based in Chicago, my hometown, makes it even more special. The fact that Big Shoulders Fund has earned a 4 star rating for operating efficiently and transparently, a status held by just 1% of charities, is a huge reason for me running for them!
My goal is to raise $2000 for Big Shoulders Fund. Any donation will be greatly appreciated. Please pass my link along to your friends and family.
Thank you for all of your support! Kevin
