Reconnecting with Nature and Indigenous Knowledge
At the Chaikuni Institute, we believe that true transformation begins with reconnection—reconnection to nature, to ancestral wisdom, and to each other. In the heart of the Peruvian Amazon, we work hand in hand with Indigenous communities to restore and protect the land through regenerative agriculture. Our goal is to ensure a future where both people and the rainforest thrive.
Indigenous peoples have safeguarded the Amazon for millennia, and their knowledge holds vital solutions for the environmental and social challenges we face today. Through our Permaculture Program, we work with Amazonian families to implement ‘chacras integrales,’ a biodiverse and regenerative agricultural system that strengthens food security, generate income, restore biodiversity, and combat climate change.
As part of this work, we also focus on the sustainable cultivation of ayahuasca (Banisteriopsis caapi), a sacred plant that is becoming increasingly scarce due to overexploitation. In our permaculture center and with the Indigenous families we collaborate with, we integrate ayahuasca cultivation into our agroforestry systems. This not only helps restore its population but also provides families with a sustainable source of income while ensuring continued access to a plant essential to their cultural and spiritual traditions.

Why Your Support Matters: The Amazon is under greater threat than ever before, facing relentless deforestation, extractive industries, and unsustainable farming practices. Without urgent action, the delicate balance of this ecosystem—and the cultures that have protected it—will be lost. Your donation will directly support Indigenous and local families with hands-on training, technical assistance, and resources to build resilient, thriving communities rooted in traditional knowledge and sustainable practices.
Join Us: By contributing to our fundraiser, you standing for a future where humans and nature coexist in harmony. Donate, share our story, and be part of this movement to regenerate the Amazon.
Together, we can transform lives and landscapes. Will you ride with us for the Amazon?
