Hello there!
Growing up, my mother was always very crafty. Whether it was crocheting, cross stitching, or painting, I was always impressed at her ability to learn new hobbies and create new things. While my hobbies and skills vary slightly from hers, I’ll always be thankful that she passed down her love of creating to me as it has often been a source of comfort throughout my life, and especially now as I undergo treatment for breast cancer.
For my create-a-thon, I’m planning to practice my watercolor skills and to learn to embroider. If you'd like to sponsor my crafty cause, please donate here. I'm by no means an expert, but if you'd also like some watercolor bookmarks, just let me know :) Not only will this give me something fun to do while I recover from surgery this month but it also helps an amazing cause. Every dollar donated goes directly to Cactus Cancer Society's programs which help support ending isolation amongst young adult cancer patients and survivors.
7/7/24 Update: Thank you so much to everyone that has donated. You’re all amazing! 🫶🏽 Here’s some of the progress I’ve made with my embroidery and watercolor:
