Claire B.'s Story

Hi! My name is Claire and I am a freshman at CoSA (Coronado School of the Arts) in the musical theater and drama department. Though I started theater in elementary school, I joined TYP in 2023. Since then, it has been like a second home to me. I have made amazing friends and connections and truly found a place where I can freely be myself. It’s given me a chance to grow and improve in theater more than ever before. Before TYP, theater was just a hobby. Now it’s an important part of who I am and who I hope to become. Some of my favorite roles include Kelsi in High School Musical (TYP), various roles in The Lightning Thief (TYP), and Mama Bear in Shrek Jr (Pershing Middle). I am also so thrilled to be in this years Halloween show as Morticia. It was the first TYP show I saw so it’s so special to be in it. I also love doing work backstage, mainly working costumes. I've designed/worked costumes for Seussical Jr, Shrek Jr (both Pershing), Beauty and the Beast (TYP), and Addams Family (CoSA).
