Dear friends and family,
I hope my words find you well. I am excited to share an incredible opportunity I’ve been given to serve abroad this summer through a mission trip to three regions. Over the course of seven weeks in June and July, we will be traveling to El Salvador, Kenya, and Uganda. I am excited to be the Lord’s hands and feet through service.
This will be my second mission trip abroad with GOD International. I participated in a trip to El Salvador in 2021. This trip was life-changing for me as it was my first service trip to another country. I was 14 when I took my first big step of faith to live out a life of service. We, as a body, are called to live lives of service. I want to live out Matthew 5:14 by striving to be a light to the nations and be a voice for those whose voices have been silenced by the world. I am excited to go back to El Salvador and reconnect with those I served 4 years ago. I am thankful that, with age and knowledge, I can serve in a new capacity this summer.
I am excited to travel to Africa this summer. My parents and brother have both been and served in Uganda, one of the regions I will be serving and made connections with our cooperatives there. I am looking forward to meeting those who I’ve heard so much about and who know my family. I will get to meet two of my online highschool classmates, Genesis and Rebecca, in person in Uganda. I have loved working with them in classes and getting to know them, and I can’t wait to see them and serve their community.
This trip, organized by Global Outreach Developments International, is an opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone both physically and mentally. I will be relying solely upon the Lord. Like the Israelites in the wilderness, when we have nothing, we have to rely upon the lord in faith that he will provide for us. I have been raised to see the value in service and have been practicing it my whole life. I want to make my heart soft in order to give the Lord the opportunity to work with me this summer. I feel called by God to participate in the Summer Internship, but I cannot do it alone.
To make this trip possible, I am reaching out to invite you to partner with me. The total cost of the trip is $8,500, which covers travel, accommodations, meals, and supplies. I am responsible for raising this money by May.
