Hi, my name is Georgia and I am part of Team Glut1. Glut1 Deficiency Syndrome (Glut1-DS) is a rare and incurable genetic mutation associated with abnormal brain metabolism. Georgia’s Glut1, the principal transporter of glucose across the blood-brain barrier, is malfunctioning and as a result her brain doesn’t get the necessary energy to function properly. Further research is sorely needed, we live in the hope of a cure for this complex and rare disorder. You can make a difference today and help me raise money for research, and hopefully my life will improve as a result of it.
