Running is more than a sport to me. It represents so much more than exercise, or a way to spend time outdoors. Running, to me, is a reminder that I am fully alive, and capable of anything. I first ran the Chicago Marathon in 2019 as a celebration of sobriety, and now, having run a few more marathons with the love of my life, we will take to the streets of Chicago to represent a worthy cause. My son Grant was born in 2016 with a rare genetic disorder, and I am well aware of the lack of attention and research funding that these ailments receive. It is an honor to raise money for such a cause, while continuing to pursue my own journey with my lovely running partner... if I can keep up.
