Denise Mailand's Story

Water is a basic human right! During my time at the beautiful Lake Atitlán, I came to realize what a privilege access to clean water truly is. Drinking straight from the tap is not something that can be taken for granted there. Facing an illness caused by contaminated water and witnessing firsthand the challenging water conditions in the region awakened a deep desire in me to help. That’s why I became part of Water4Life - to give back and support the local communities in creating sustainable solutions for themselves. Through water filtration systems, wastewater management, women’s empowerment, education, sanitation kits, and permaculture-based water infrastructure, we are working towards a future where clean water is accessible to all.
