I have decided to do the 50 mile march in honor of the many family and friends that have served in the Armed services for our freedom. My dad has sense passed but I have heard countless stories when he served in Vietnam. His closest friends were the ones he met while serving and they were the ones who carried his casket on his final walk. They experienced something together that I couldn’t hear enough about but something I will personally never experience.
My son is currenting serving in the Army and is stationed in Hawaii with his wife and 2 girls. I have watched the sacrifices they have endured during his time in the Army. I see the emotional toll it takes on families to be away from each other for long periods of time. Our family is large and very supportive in many ways but I understand that not all families have that support behind them.
I have many individuals in my family including grandfather, father, son, uncle, nephew and cousins and friends that have chosen to serve our country and there has always been a sense of never being able to thank them enough. I hope I always carry this “sense” because they sacrifice for our freedom and I will forever be grateful to them.
I come to this platform asking for your support. If you can donate to this 50 mile walk I will embark on in August I am forever grateful. If you are unable to give at this time please send your prayers to all the men and women who have chosen to fight for our freedom.
Thank you for considering.
