I have been supporting this mission since it was just an idea in Jay's head. :) Getting behind such a powerful movement was really easy. I have been a part of fundraising, sponsorship, hospitality, recruiting, and walking. I love everything about what this non profit stands for.
The 2023 march meant resonated with me even more as in May of 23' my younger brother took his own life. I wanted to walk in honor of my brother. Unfortunately, I failed. I tapped out a mile 28. My mind wasn't able to overcome what my body was telling me. I trained for 8 months and thought I was ready. I wasn't. What took me almost 2 months after the march was to realize I was right where I needed to be. God only gives you what you can handle. My mind wasn't strong enough to push my body at that time because of all the loss that was eating at my soul. What I was able to do was walk 28 miles and then pick up and serve my friends who were continuing on the march until the end. I have a big huge heartfelt shout out to my dear friend Emily Swinford who carried my brother Caseys photo on her back over the finish line. That was one of the most compassionate things anyone has ever done for me! Thank you!! There are many people that I have to thank and give shout outs to. (Julie, John (My hubby), Meggan, Jbau, Coni, Meegan, Logan, Larry, Stephanie, Eric, Becky, Alexis, Aileen, Amanda, Stephen, Leon, Jay, Justin, Nick, Sean, Matt, Chad, Lisa, Katie, Matt, Kim & all my family and friends who have supported in donation, love, & support) Thank you all for being a part of my reason for pushing through. You are the reason I am ready for the 24 March. I am focused. I will walk again for Casey. If you haven't been a part of this mission in some way in the past please sign up to march, donate, sponsor, fundraise, connect, commit. It will make your cup runneth over!
I am donating $100 for each family I serve this year to show my commitment.
