Joe Colwell is a MHS sophomore who has lived in Montclair since he was 6 months old - not quite born, but most definitely bred in Montclair.
His first live performance was playing “Skyfall” on the piano at a school talent show aged 11, and there was no looking back. Not long after, he took up the guitar, and found his true passion.
He sings with the The Passing Notes at Montclair High School. He’s performed with the Montclair School of Rock House Band, and hosted the Youth Open Mic at Trend Coffee Shop. During Covid, he has been writing original material both on his own and with friends, and has been lucky enough to perform at many outdoor events. He’s also involved in the High School Fall “Showcase” - where you might see him trying out his fancy footwork for the first time!
His “career” highlight to date was playing on the Wellmont Stage with Jersey Shore band Brian Kirk and the Jirks. He loves nothing more than performing in front of an energetic audience and sharing his love of music.
When he’s not making music, you will find him snowboarding or kayaking with his younger brother and friends.
He is super excited to be a part of ShowUp Montclair and loves this amazing town! He wants to make his classmates and community proud! Donate in Joe's honor to let him know how much we appreciate that he's showingUP for his Montclair classmates.
Rock on Joe!
