Hello everyone!
Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page. It's once again time for City Island Rowing's annual Ergathon! I have advanced very far in my rowing journey. I've gone from total newbie to New York State Champion, to national competitor to Varsity athlete! Since I am a senior, it is my last year on the team. I am so glad that I am part of this spectacular team. This sport has already made me more disciplined and dedicated than I ever could have imagined, waking up at 4:15 is not an easy task. This sport has shown me the power of a team, of 8 girls pushing simultaneously, each wanting it more than the next. That's why having new equipment can improve our team and our courage to face the next challenge.
This leads me to the main purpose of the fundraiser. I want to be able to give back to this team for all of the things it has given me these past four years. All of the equipment we are currently using has been purchased through this fundraiser. The equipment, along with the money we raise, will be part of a long legacy of highly dedicated athletes. Thank you to everyone who considers donating to this wonderful team!
In order to even be deserving of donations, I will be erging (using the rowing machine) for 90 impossibly long minutes. I hope that my "sweat equity" makes any and all donations worthwhile.
This video, made by the amazing alum Sydney Tuck, expresses more than I can describe in words how much this sport means to me:
Thank you so much!!!
