I have been an oncology (cancer) nurse for 28 years. I first became aware of Cancer Care Services (CCS) as an oncology navigator.  It did not take me long to notice how complicated and devastating the cancer journey can be for a patient, their caregiver, and their families. As a previous cancer navigator, I was always looking for resources for my patients. Many organizations only offer assistance to the patient and not their caregiver. Many organizations also only provide assistance for certain cancer diagnosis, such as breast cancer and will only provide assistance, if the patient is under current treatment. Cancer Care Services provides programs and services for clients, caregivers and survivors, regardless of the cancer diagnosis. This is why I choose to support CCS and refer patients and families to this wonderful organization.  I believe in this organization’s mission so much, I became a board member two years ago.
